Emalyn Ann Hoffman Harvey, 88, of Atlantis, Fl., passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016, in her home following a brief illness. Born in Evansville, IN on March 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John Hoffman and Ruth (nee Bryant) Hoffman. She is also predeceased by her sister, Harriett Propst; brother John Hoffman and husband William M. Harvey. Ann's memory will be cherished by her sons, William B. (Corinne) Harvey of Wellington and John M. (girlfriend Laurie) Harvey of Atlantis; grandchildren, Victoria (Jeff) Hirsch, Ashley (boyfriend Eric) Harvey and Billy (girlfriend Kali) Harvey; great grandchildren, Ava(4), Mason(20 months) and Cole(2 months); brother in-law, Neil Propst of Atlanta; sister in-law, Phyllis Hoffman of Colorado Springs; niece, Nancy Payne; nephews, Keith Propst, Craig Probst, Bruce Propst, Russ Hoffman & Gary Hoffman. Ann's family moved to Lake Worth, Fl. in 1939 and she had lived in Lake Worth or Atlantis ever since. She married the love of her life William M. Harvey July 1, 1951. They both shared a love for Lake Worth, Lake Worth High School, Sports and Cats. Her love of cats was legendary and was evident the moment you arrived at her house. She favored Matt Lauer and her 2 favorite sports personalities were Jeff Gordon and Chipper Jones. She loved her Braves but she really loved that Chipper. She and husband Bill enjoyed watching sons Bill Jr. and John play sports at LWHS. Bill Jr. would marry his high school sweetheart Corinne who was a great source of pride for her and became a close friend and confidant through the years. Ann and Bill found great joy in watching and playing with their grandchildren. She loved everything they were involved in, dancing, cheerleading or any sport they were playing. She found the next generation just as entertaining and lovable. The sight and sounds of her great grandchildren would light up her day just as her grandchildren did. She will also miss being with her P.E.O. sisters, Lake Worth H.S. Alumni, Dollars for Scholars foundation, LWHS classmates, her First Baptist of Lake Worth family and most certainly her Wednesday and Friday night dinner groups. She loved those dinner groups. Ann loved giving back to her community starting in the 1950's until her death. Known as " Mrs. Lake Worth", she was the second mother to many. If you needed help or a helping hand and she knew about it, she was always there for you. Lake Worth and the area has lost a piece of its soul, its heritage and its passion. In lieu of flowers please donate in her name to Lake Worth High School Dollars for scholars / Lake Worth HS Athletic Dept. or Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach. Viewing and burial will be private. A public memorial will be held at the Former First Baptist Church of Lake Worth Sat. Aug. 13th 11:00am followed by a reception in the fellowship hall next door.
