Elizabeth Ann Sutton

Elizabeth Ann (Carey) Sutton left this life and the family she loved at 11:50am on Friday October 30 at the age of 98. She was born on February 26, 1928 to D.A. Carey and Ann (Brodie) Carey. She was raised in Bethel Connecticut and was the Salutatorian of her Bethel High School class. She lived in Bethel, Sandy Hook and Southbury Connecticut before moving to Palm Beach County in 1972. She was the beloved wife of Jack Edward Sutton for 65 years before his passing on December 13, 2013. She is survived by her sons John and Bill and their wives Marcia and Diana, grandchildren Dawn, Neil, Matt, Jennifer, Jackie and Michael, and greatgrandchildren Jack Edward Sutton II, Luke Sutton, Lilly Sutton, Jack Roth Sutton, Charlie Sutton, Josie Sutton and Olivia Sutton. Elizabeth and Jack loved their dogs so much the bought a King size bed so they all would fit. Elizabeth and Jack and John worked at The Southbury Training School for many years before moving to Florida. Elizabeth began the Scheduling Department at STS and served as its supervisor until her retirement. She leaves a void in the hearts of family members who called her Liz, Mom, Grandma or Nana. They loved her deeply and were loved deeply in return. After a long and wonderful life her loved ones are comforted by joyful memories of one whose life truly made a difference. At her request there will be no formal memorial service. She will be interred together forever with her childhood sweetheart Jack at the South Florida National Cemetery at 6501 S. SR 7, Lake Worth, Fl. In her memory please perform a generous deed to help a person in need.
