Elizabeth Joan Lantiere

Elizabeth J. Lantiere of Brooklyn, New York, Sag Harbor New York and West Palm Beach Florida, passed away peacefully on October 12th, 2024 at the age of 92. Betty was born on July 8th , 1932 in Bensonhurst Brooklyn to the parents of Mary Christina and Peter Gervasi originally of Palermo, Sicily and Brooklyn, NY. Betty as she was known to her family and friends met her husband Russ Lantiere after he came home from the Navy, and they were married in 1954. They had three children, Marianne, Joan and Salvatore. After raising her family, Betty went back to school, attending Brooklyn College of the City of New York, receiving first an Advanced Certificate in Guidance and Counselling and then continued on to receive a Master of Science in Education in 1985. Betty was devoted to the church, working both in Brooklyn at St. Athanasius Church and then participating in the many programs and events at Our Lady Queen of Apostles in Royal Palm Beach. Our mom was devoted to her husband of almost 60 years as well as her family, six grandchildren - Michael, Paul, Alyssa, Alexa, Ava and Christina, great grandchildren Travis,Tyler,Tucker, Alec, Mila and Carter, and her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Betty moved from Brooklyn to Sag Harbor in the 1980's, and then to Palm Beach, Florida in the 1990's - choosing Baywinds and Harbour Cove as her forever home. Betty was a force when working for a cause and enjoyed her involvement in the many clubs, councils and events Baywinds Had to offer. She made many good friends along the way. She loved to laugh and always had a story to tell or song to sing. We will miss her terribly, but she is with her husband and her God in Heaven now and we are grateful that she is in peace.
