Eleanor Tarantino, 82, of Greenacres, Florida died on May 25, 2011 after a long illness. She was born April 8, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Parrinello. Eleanor married Nicholas Tarantino December 9, 1950 in Brooklyn, NY and moved here from Bethpage, NY in 1984. Eleanor was a great cook and seamstress. She loved to play bingo and sometimes the slot machines. She was always meticulous about her appearance and very fashionable. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Nicholas Tarantino, sons Mike (Carol) Tarantino of Wellington, FL, and Nicholas (Vanessa) Tarantino of Bethpage, NY; and daughter Vicki (Tim) McCarthy of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her sisters, Angela Vice, Grace (Tony) Tivoli; brother James (Rosemary) Parrinello; and sister-in-law, Frances Tarantino; her grandchildren, Gabrielle Bowerman, Timothy McCarthy, Michael Tarantino Jr., Matthew Tarantino, Anthony Tarantino, Jessica Tarantino; and great-granddaughter, Mia Sophia Bowerman. Visitation will be held at Palms West Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, from 12PM till 4PM, and on Thursday, June 2, from 2PM – 4PM and from 6PM – 9PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 3, at 10:30AM at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Wellington, FL, followed by entombment at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
