Elaine Ruffa of Wellington, Florida passed away May 10, 2017. She was 77 years old. Daughter of Joseph and Teresa Vizzini of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Elaine was a graduate of Penn Hills High School, class of 1958. Elaine married Domenic G. Ruffa, Jr., becoming his loving and devoted wife for 58 beautiful years, and beloved Mother to their four children; Renee M. Vazquez, Sharon Ann Calvo (Anthony), Domenic J. Ruffa, Jr. (Brenda Duffack), and Dino John Ruffa (Jennifer). The family relocated to Wellington, Florida in 1979, where they embraced their new community. As a true testament to Elaine and Domenic's spirit, the community warmly embraced the Ruffa Family in return. Supporting her children in every endeavor, Elaine was a consummate second-mother to the Forest Hill High School athletic community. Known for her legendary cooking and for opening her home to anyone in need, Mrs. Ruffa will be fondly remembered and missed by all. Elaine thrived in managing two hair salons in Boca Raton until retiring at the age of 75. In addition to her husband and children, Elaine is survived by her greatest treasures; grandchildren Christina Garcia, Nicole Vazquez, Katie Ruffa, Gina Garcia, Anthony Vazquez, Frank Calvo, Domenic J. Ruffa, Jr., and Carson Ruffa; her two little angels, great-grandchildren Giana and Kai; adored brother and friend Joseph Vizzini; dearly loved nieces and nephew Cherl, Jeff, Dannielle, and Gabrielle, and cherished childhood friends Carol Demasi and Patty Pecora. A memorial mass will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday May 23rd at Saint Ritas Catholic Church, Wellington Florida, followed by a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, Elaine wished for donations to be made to Little Smiles of Florida (1325 N. Congress Ave, Suite 205, WPB 33401) or The Wounded Warrior Project (PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675).
