Edward Gerrity, Real Estate Developer. It is with great sadness that the family of Edward (Ed) Gerrity of Palm Beach, Florida announces his passing on February 16, 2019 at the age of 83 years. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lorraine along with his children, daughter Patricia Panarella (Salvatore), Edward (Janet) and William. Stepdaughter Paula Howell (Jason). Ed leaves behind 6 grandchildren Allison, Colin, Ava, Sean, Sloane and Pierce. Ed was predeceased by his loving Grandmother Fanny Kerrigan Egan who had a huge impact on Ed's childhood, Parents Walter and Marie Gerrity and brother William Gerrity. A native of Brooklyn, New York Ed was involved in the Real Estate business for most of his adult life. He was the President and founder of Smith Hanten Realty Corp. on Smith Street, Brooklyn, NY for many years. He was instrumental in the redevelopment of Boerum Hill and Smith Street, Brooklyn. He had great foresight and was a true visionary, which in turn helped many people attain their dream of owning property. His interests were football, football, football along with his Irish culture and traveling. Viewing will be held on Monday February 25, 2019 from 6-8pm at Palms West Funeral Home located at 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach Fl. A Christian mass will be celebrated in memory of Ed on Tuesday February 26, 2019 11am at St. Theresa De Lisieux Catholic Church 11800 Lake Worth Road, Wellington, FL. Burial will immediately follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery located at 10941 Southern Blvd., Royal Palm Beach, Florida. A memorial will be planned at a future date in New York City.
