Edward "TED" Burton Darrington, age 77, passed away on April 18, 2013 at Morse Life Geriatric Center in West Palm Beach, Florida after a long illness. Ted was born July 17, 1935 in Sacramento, CA to Burton and Edith Bailey Darrington. He grew up in Orangevale and Folsom, California. He was a design contract engineer for various aircraft firms throughout the country and retired from Pratt Whitney. He did design work for the Apollo program and government aircraft programs. Married on November 8, 1975, he is survived by his wife, Ruth Newbury Darrington of West Palm Beach, Florida; two daughters: Tobi Renee (Ralph) Martin of Woodruff, SC and Courtney M. Darrington of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He was predeceased in death by his son, John William Darrington in 2010. He leaves to cherish his memory three granddaughters: Danielle Stiles of Royal Palm Beach, Lexi McGill and Laci Berkofsky of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. He is survived by brothers, Lloyd (Ann) Darrington of Folsom, California; Robert (Francis) Darrington of Jacksonville, Arkansas and sister, Shirley (Kenneth) Roberts of Roseville, California; nephew, Robert (Christy) Darrington, nieces Janet (Ray) Plumb and Amy (John) Boles, Brenda and Kim Roberts and great nephews and nieces: Robbie, Michael, Philip, Caitlin, Hayley and baby Maya. Also, his mother-in-law, Jean Newbury of Ulysses, PA and his buddy Uncle Bud Young. Edward will be missed by all the caring staff at Morse Life Geriatric Center of West Palm Beach. Memorial Cremation Services will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Pkwy, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Dale Hudson of Christ Fellowship will officiate.
