Edna L. Morgan was born to Hugh George Ruddock and Gretel Ruddock, in Westmoreland, Jamaica on April 28, 1933. She welcomed her first child, a son Delroy and her second, a daughter Terry before emigrating to the United States in 1968. She married Uriah Morgan in Yonkers, NY and gave birth to a third child, Richard in 1971. A lifelong caregiver, Edna soon began her nursing career at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, where she retired after 30 years of service. Deeply religious, she was a devout choir member of Wake-Eden Baptist Church, in the Bronx New York. After moving to Florida, she was a very active and vocal member at Connect Church of Royal Palm Beach, participating in Bible studies, senior fellowship activities and church outreach programs. She was also an active member of the organization, Caribbean-Americans For Community Involvement. On March 10th, 2023 Edna Morgan, Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt passed away after a valiant 6-month battle with cancer, at age 89. She is survived by her children Terry and Richard, siblings Monica, Claire, Gavin, Algernon and Neville. Edna was proceeded in death by her husband Uriah, son Delroy, sisters Ida and Inez, and brothers Cleve, Stainton, and Trevor. Edna will be forever remembered by her loving son Richard and her daughter Terry. She will also be sadly missed by her 4 grandchildren Tiffany, Phillip, Saskia, Dylan, her nephews and nieces, as well as extended family and dear friends.
