It is with a heavy heart that the Manger family announces the passing of Douglas Franklin Manger, Jr of Loxahatchee, Florida at age 68. He passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from complications of ongoing cardiovascular disease. Doug was born on January 18, 1953, in Baltimore, Maryland to loving parents Douglas Franklin Manger and Colleen Marshall Shipley. Doug was married to Mary Lynn Manger, of Loxahatchee, at the time of his passing. Doug lived a life of service to his fellow man and community. He devoted over 35 years of his life as a fire fighter and paramedic, and served as a medical technician at Glades Correctional Institute. Doug mentored countless souls at the West Technical Education Center in Belle Glade, Florida. His professional achievements were numerous and best exemplified by his recognition as the Top Fire Inspector of Palm Beach County, a testament to his dedication, hard work, and concern for the greater good. Doug primarily resided in the towns of Belle Glade and Loxahatchee, both in Florida. He was well loved and respected in the community. Doug never met a stranger- he utilized dry wit and his unforgettable laugh to create a light-hearted atmosphere steeped in an aura of kindness. The family wouldn't be surprised if on a calm night in Loxahatchee you could hear Doug, now joining his twin brother Donald Francis Manger, holding court in the next life. Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Manger of Loxahatchee, Florida, son Doug and his wife Krista Manger of Loxahatchee, Florida, daughter Rosemarie and her husband Jonathan Levenson of Walpole, Massachussetts, son Jeffery Manger of Florence, Kentucky, daughter Shannon Manger of Cincinatti, Ohio, step children Marco Collins and his wife Maranda of Maryville, Tennessee, Micah Collins and wife Stephanie of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Jana Santos Mejia and husband Marlon of St. Augustine, Florida, brother Kenneth and his wife Cindy Manger of Baltimore, Maryland, sister-in-law Janyce Collins and her husband Douglas Hardy, brother-in-law Charles Collins, grandchildren James Manger, Alyssa Manger-Garitson, Gracie Manger, Aden Levenson, Aaron Levenson, William Manger, Kayden Hall, and Olivia Manger, great grandchild Ella Lee Garitson, step grandchildren Isaiah Collins, Caitlin Collins, Daniel Collins, Sean Waslawski, Serenitee Merry, Bo Presnell, Luke Presnell, Abigail Collins, Tristan Spencer, Kaitlin Santos Mejia, Mallory Santos Mejia, step great grandchildren Avery Collins, Rosalie Collins, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 31st, 2021 from 9 am to 11 am at Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory (110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, Fl 33411). Services will be held Tuesday, August 31st at 11 am, also at Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory. Graveside service will occur Friday, September 3rd , 2021 at 9:30 am at South Florida National Cemetery (6501 S.
