Douglas Desaram

Douglas was born in Kandy, Sri Lanka February 1, 1935. He migrated to The United States in the 1950's where he was a member of The United States Air Force and married his love Malanie, in 1957, also from Sri Lanka. Douglas relocated to West Palm Beach to help his parents run the family business of cultivating Orchids. The DeSaram family was the first Sri Lankans to settle in West Palm Beach and are highly respected in the Sri Lankan community. Douglas was a well known horticulturist of orchids. He is survived by his son Ronald, daughter-in-law Nancy, son Anthony, daughter Leilani and grandson Da-Ming.
