Dorothy Elaine Hions

The family of Dorothy E. (Johnson) Hions announces her peaceful passing on June 17, 2015. She was 69. Dottie was born in Lowell, Massachusetts and moved to West Palm Beach in 1950. She graduated from Cardinal Newman High School. For the last 30 years, Dottie was employed with JB Hanauer/RBC Wealth Management. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Peter, and parents, Kenneth & Dorothy Johnson. Dottie is survived by her adoring daughters Julie O'Kane (Matthew) of Orlando; Cindy Fischer of Suwanee, GA; Carey Kingree (Jeff) and Deanna Hions of West Palm Beach; sister Karen Taplin (Norman) and brother Kenneth Johnson of West Palm Beach; grandsons Alexander, Jeffrey, Tyler, Kevin, and Brennan; granddaughters Elizabeth, Emma, and Erin; great-granddaughters Faith, Kali, and Madelaine; nieces Marianne Crann of Toronto, Ontario; Shayna Taplin of West Palm Beach; and nephews Mark Hions and Paul Hions of Toronto, Ontario; Stephen Johnson of Tampa; and Andrew Taplin of West Palm Beach. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, memorable laugh, love of family and friends, and her passion for cooking and baking. Dottie's family will receive guests on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, from 6-8 PM at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, Florida 33411. A service will follow at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at 11:00 AM with burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach.
