Donna S Vandevender

Donna Sue Vandevender, 65, of Wellington, FL., quietly passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on July 24, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Donna was born on August 10, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the youngest daughter of Wilbur A. and Oakla M. Whiteside. She was married to Robert L. Vandevender on July 13, 1968 in Muncie, Indiana. Robert died in Ft. Lauderdale in 1995. Donna is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer R. (Vandevender) Barone and Elizabeth R. Vandevender of Wellington, her step-son, Robert L. Vandevender II of Jupiter, FL and her step-daughter, Victoria L. Sander of Sanford, FL. Donna is also survived by her granddaughter Paige A. Barone, step-grandchildren Holly, Robert, Bryan, Ashley, Autumn and several step-great grandchildren. Donna graduated from Warren Central High School. After graduation, she moved to Muncie to attend Ball State Nursing School. Donna eventually became an ARNP and worked in various medical facilities in Muncie prior to moving to S. Florida where she worked for the Comprehensive Women?s Medical Center and later for the Institute for Women?s Health and Body in Wellington. A viewing for Donna will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Palms West Funeral Home,110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 from 6-8pm and church service on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at St. Peters United Methodist Church, 12200 Forest Hill Blvd, Wellington, FL 33414 at 11am. Donna's final resting place will be at Elm Ridge Memorial Park in Muncie, IN.
