It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donna Holton Shaw, age 66, on July 23, 2026.
Donna was born in Indiana, where she spent her early years before making Florida her home. She cherished her Indiana roots and looked forward to returning every summer to visit the place and people she loved.
Donna dedicated many years of her life to serving students and families at Greenacres Elementary School, where she worked faithfully until her retirement in 2025. She touched the lives of countless children, coworkers, and families through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication.
Above all else, Donna’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, caring sister, and loyal friend. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Whether relaxing at the beach, getting lost in a good book, gathering with family, playing euchre, or spending time with friends, Donna found joy in life’s simple blessings and the people she loved most.
Donna is lovingly survived by her daughter, Emily Collazo, and son-in-law, Chris Collazo; her son, Jake Shaw, and daughter-in-law, Victoria Gomez; and her beloved grandchildren, Caraline Collazo, Dwayne Shaw, and Adrianna Shaw. She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy Peel and Sharon Miller; her brothers, Dewayne Holton, Ray Holton, and Steve Holton; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Otis Lee Holton and Emma Jane Holton.
Donna’s kindness, gentle spirit, and unconditional love for her family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of love, strength, and compassion will continue to live on through those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at Palms West Funeral Home in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her life, share memories, and celebrate the remarkable woman she was.
