Donald Douglas Baker

Donald Douglas Baker, 82, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida. Don was born on July 26, 1943 at Big Rock, Kentucky. He was the son of Bill and Nell Engle Baker.

Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Holly Biedenharn Baker of West Palm Beach; a daughter, Deborah (Jim) Rose of Bishopville, South Carolina; a son, Stephen (Jamie) Baker of West Palm Beach, Florida; 2 grandsons, Myles and River Baker of West Palm Beach, Florida; a sister, Jacquie (Jerry) Kolbe of Hermann, Missouri; a brother, Dwight (Patty) Baker of Owensboro, Kentucky; and a nephew, Ed (Kathy) Sawyers of Gilbert, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by parents, his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Chandler, and brother, Billy Joe Baker.

Don attended the ROTC program and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University. He served in the military for 22 years, retiring as a Major in the Army National Guard. He was a comptroller for Simmons Company, retiring after 35 years.

Don enjoyed attending NASCAR races and car shows, sometimes entering his 1955 Ford Victoria.

The funeral service will be held on March 23, 2026 at 2:00pm at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida with burial following.
