Reflection of Life A Time to Be Born Desiree Therese Cummings Born Desiree Sylvester was born in Guyana on 9/24/1948 to Lena and Leslie Sylvester. She was the fifth child of seven: Sheila, Pansy, Ashley, Cyril, Terry, and Eon. A Time to Live Frank, affectionately known as Dennis by Desiree, met at a party in 1965 in Guyana. Fortunately, her friend lost her bicycle and Dennis offered to give her a ride home. 57 years later after that ride home they are still together. Dennis and Desiree got married December 26, 1967 (Boxing Day) in Desiree's family home. They produced 3 Children: Leslie, Darrin, and Nicole, 9 Grand Children: Savion, Breanna, Myles, Bryce, Sydnee, Milani and extended Grand Children: Shatara, Gio and Amahli, and one Great Grand Mayliya. Desiree came to Florida in July 1968 following Dennis who was on an Educational Scholarship in Miami. Desiree started her airline career at Air Florida and then subsequently her favorite job at Guyana Airways, there she met a slew of long-life friends. A Time to Depart Desiree passed away on September 6, 2022, at 8:57pm at Wellington Regional Hospital, surrounded by her devoted loved ones. Desiree leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Frank, sons Leslie and Darrin, daughter Nicole, sister Pansy, Brothers Terry and Eon, grandchildren, a Great Grand, a host of nieces, nephews, and many in-laws. A Time to Reflect & Rejoice If you knew Desiree, she was the life of any room. Her big loud laugh could be heard in all corners of a room. When she walked into a room of music, she immediately began dancing. Her friend Leila labelled her, the wire, and the spark of the room. Desiree lived! She had a fun filled loving life. Her greatest accomplishment was her family. She loved them dearly and fiercely. Her children, her siblings, her grandchildren and all her nieces and nephews were the treasures of her life. Desiree will be missed. May she find rest and peace. No more pain. Dance Des, Dance!
