Deirdre Eileen Fitzpatrick

Deirdre E. Fitzpatrick, 63, died on February 7th from complications arising after spinal surgery. Born in 1954 on Long Island, New York, she spent most of her life in South Florida. Derry received her Registered Nursing Degree from Dade Community College in 1974 and worked in adolescent psychiatry at Jackson Hospital in Miami until she took on the more challenging role of full-time mother. Later on, she returned for a brief stint helping mothers with postpartum depression and she was proud to have kept her nursing credentials current throughout her life. She is survived by her husband, Tom - their children, Kieran, Siobhán, and Desmond - and their six grandchildren, Juniper, Willow, Olive, Brigid, Fionn, and Riley, all of whome brought her great joy.
