Debra Gale

May 8, 1955 — June 9, 2018

Debra Gale passed with peace and grace on June 9th, 2018 after a brave 3 year battle with breast cancer. She is survived by daughter Melissa, sons Jason and Keith and grandchildren: Milan, Isabella, Alexis, Justin, Sean, Marissa and Annabelle. Debra was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1955. She grew up on the Jersey shore, driving the Jersey boys crazy with her crystal blue eyes and long blonde hair. A hippy she was through and through! She danced to the beat of her own drum and had too many interests to list! Debra was fearless and served in the Army for a brief period, was a former police officer, corrections officer, K9 explosive handler, victim advocate and domestic violence intervention specialist. She was pretty bad-ass. On her softer she dabbled in culinary arts, floristry and published a children's Halloween book of which she was extremely proud of. She was a very talented writer, always painting the most vivid pictures with her words (she would've definitely wrote this better, sorry mom!). She often spun wild fairy-tale stories of angels, fairies and faraway lands to her granddaughter's delight. She taught us to find the magic in the everyday moments, to pause and be in the "now". She was a resilient fun-loving rule breaker, spontaneous and a free-spirited person with a sensitive soul who loved to laugh and love. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother whose outlook on life was full of hope and pink sunglasses. She leaves us with a million hilarious stories and life lessons filled with love and light. She will live forever in our hearts. Mom's favorite saying "Now we are free..."
