Deborah Judith Giles

June 25, 1967 — June 20, 2011

Deborah Judith Giles, of Lake Worth, Florida, died June 20, 2011, in Whitehall Boca Raton, after a long and valiant battle with a brain tumor. Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, June25, 1967 to Laurence and Judith Higgins, Debbie was a loyal and devoted Floridian, soaking up the sunshine while nurturing lifelong friendships; and here she met the absolute love of her life, Rick Giles. Together Rick and Debbie created a loving home for their two children where friends and family were frequent and welcome visitors. Friends soon felt like family and family enjoyed the warmth of friendship in this home that showed Debbie's creative genius in every corner. You knocked at the door; she opened it; and in the beauty of her smile and in the sparkle of her eyes you saw, "Welcome, welcome, welcome." Once her children were in school, Debbie became the ultimate Sports Mom hauling kids from field to gym and back again in her trusty SUV. She volunteered in Ricky and Emily's classes adding her nurturing and intelligent talents to those of the teacher. Every child in the class benefitted from her presence. Debbie never missed a baseball game, basketball game or any other sport or performance by her children. Her love surrounded Rick, Ricky and Emily; and her love was the cornerstone of their family life. She epitomized the woman described in Proverbs 31: "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her." Debbie is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Rick, her son, Ricky, 15, her daughter, Emily, 10, her mother, Judy; her mother-in-law, Sharon; her Aunt Judy; her brothers-and -sisters-in-law, Nicole and Lanny and their children, nieces: Shelby, Sarah, Lily, and Cheyenne; Richard and Judy and their children nephew Richie, and nieces Sharon and Laura; her cousins Eric and Nicole and their children Jacob, Aaron and Benjamin; Sherry and Jason and their children Emma, Juliet, Allie and Zoe; plus a long, long list of friends too numerous to list but too beloved not to mention. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Christ Fellowship, Smith Chapel: 5312 Northlake Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, 33418. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
