David Richard Entinger Born on the Fourth of July, 1969 in Seoul, South Korea, Dave lived most of his life in South Florida. He came in with a bang but passed away peacefully at home just a day after his 48th birthday from a year-and-half long battle with colon cancer. Dave is survived by his mother, Ok Cha Entinger; his wife, Jennifer Thompson Entinger; his sons, Zachary Campbell Entinger (17) and Joshua Alexander Entinger (15); and his brother James Entinger. Dave grew up in Homestead, Florida and was active in rock-n-roll bands from his early teens through his 20's. He played in the bands Scarlet Creed, Jester and Dark August. He loved music and was well known for his charismatic personality and hot pink Jackson guitar. He was the perfect husband and father in that he was our hairdresser, pool boy, IT specialist, realtor, coach and chef as well as a wonderful role model for his sons and other boys and young men in the community. Dave was a baseball coach for the past 15 years, first in Pembroke Pines and then in Loxahatchee, FL with the Acreage Athletic League. You would often find Dave on the weekends hosting BBQs for the players and their families and even giving the young boys mohawks as their summer haircut much to their parents chagrin. Dave never knew a stranger. If he didn't win people over with his smile or his larger than life personality – he won you over with his cooking. Dave was infamous for whipping up a quick meal or snack from scratch, by the way it tasted you would have thought he spent hours in the kitchen getting each flavor perfect. Dave was always the happiest when he was cooking. Although most of us loved his BBQ, kids loved his pancakes – just asks his nieces and nephews or most of the kids in the community. He made many kids smile with his made-to-order pancakes. The rumor is Dave's maple syrup was fresh from the maple tree in the backyard. To honor Dave, his family will be hosting an open house for family and friends at their home in the Acreage on Saturday, July 15th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Anyone who would like to come by and say hello or share memories or tell stories about Dave is welcome.
