Daniel Patrick Popejoy Age 26. Born in Boynton Beach, Fl 3/10/1992. Died in Lake Worth 9/24/2018. Daniel was raised in Lake Worth, Fl. He attended Heritage Elementary and Congress Middle Schools. He attended high school in Charlotte, NC where he was very active in Jr.ROTC. He later returned here and studied online and at FAU. He worked for Office Depot and later at BrandsMartUSA. Daniel had a dream to help the hurting people around him. In 2017, he started The Phoenix Mission, a nonprofit outreach designed to give back to the local community. He collected money, food, water, clothing and supplies and distributed them to help people in need in Lake Worth. FL. Dan and several colleagues worked to establish The Phoenix Charity Bar which opened this summer in the old Bamboo Room on J Street in Lake Worth. It is the only charity bar in Florida and one of five in the USA. Proceeds go to support charitable causes in Lake Worth. Daniel is survived by his mother Diane M Vastine, father Michael W Popejoy, his brothers and sisters: Christina Popejoy, Brian Schimek, Kathleen Popejoy, Kevin Popejoy and Keith Popejoy, his aunt Beverly Humphries and cousin Jessica Brown. Condolences also to the extended family including but not limited to Jean Popejoy, her children Bob, Tracy and Trisha, and to Ramses Veloso. The circumstances of Daniel's death are still under investigation and not subject to discussion at present.
