Daniel Joseph Downing Iii

Our beloved father, Daniel Joseph Downing III has peacefully passed at 69 years old at his home in Wellington, Florida on Saturday, June 2nd 2018. Daniel was born on the 21st day of August 1948 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of Daniel Joesph Downing II and Rita Angelina Fasano. Daniel was an only child. He studied education at the State University of New York at Geneseo, receiving his bachelors degree. He pursued his education from Dowling College with a masters degree in special educa-tion. He worked for Western Suffolk Boces as a special education teacher for 30+ years. Daniel grew up in Babylon, New York for most of his life until he moved to Smithtown, New York. He then retired from his teaching career and moved to Wellington, Florida where he en-joyed nature and the outdoors, while capturing it through photography. Dan was a very outgoing, outspoken man with a contagious smile. Dan was survived by his daughters, Courtney A. Downing, Michelle L. Downing, Jennifer A. Downing and Melissa A. Downing. He was a loving grandfather to Jaxon Daniel, Matthew Johnathon and Michael John and a host of family members and friends.
