Daniel Scott Brown, born in Bay City, MI on March 29, 1961, passed away unexpectedly in Loxahatchee, FL on August 28, 2025. He was 64. Dan was an ace mechanic. He could literally repair anything with wheels, pistons, and more! He was the family go-to guy for anything needing fixed and he was always there for anyone needing a hand. Dan's life began in Bay City, MI on March 29, 1961. His parents moved to Miami, FL when he and his sister were toddlers. As a teen, he loved riding his bicycle "around the block" with his brother Steve and boating in the Snapper Creek Canal by the house. The two brothers spent long days exploring Elliot Key and the surrounding islands from a 12-foot boat launched from Card Sound Bridge. Family boating trips around Elliot Key and Matheson Hammock often included a few dolphins in the wake. When he was 10, Dan's father gave Dan and Steve a 1971 60cc Yamaha Mini Enduro motorcycle and they started racing motocross, where he won many trophies. As a young adult, he shifted from dirt to road races. Despite motocross crashes from 6 to 36mph, and road racing crashes from 36 to 106mph (!), Dan usually came out ahead of the pack, with many trophies to show his love for the sport. Dan met the love of his life, Mary Anastasia Pierce, 21 years ago, while mistakenly going into the wrong insurance office. Dan admired Mary immediately and made her his new insurance agent. He was so sweet, sending beautiful flower arrangements to her office every week. To celebrate their love and partnership, they held a commitment ceremony on 12-12-12, a date chosen because he said it was easy to remember 😊 Dan and Mary enjoyed all things racing, spending time with family, and obtaining a lot of fun toys. He didn't have children of his own but he had two step and 4 grand babies that loved and adored him. They dreamed of retiring together and building their dream home that would house their entire family. Dan had a soft spot for animals. He once adopted an orphan baby squirrel, which clung to Dan's chest, peeking out from under his shirt and shoulder. A few years ago, he noticed a cat with white paws on the back porch, and started feeding it. He worked for many months to gain her trust, and his patience paid off. Now "Mittens" is a beloved family pet, along with dogs Willow and Buddy. Beyond his pets, Dan loved his family (biological and church!), and was obsessed with motorcycles, muscle cars, military history, late 18th-century frigates, and his morning Dunkin Donuts ritual with his buddies. He was adventurous and curious, exploring beautiful new places and using Google constantly to answer his many questions. Rest in peace, Dan. Look down upon us and know that we're thinking of you and loving you forever ❤️ Dan is survived by his love, Mary Anastasia Pierce of Royal Palm Beach, FL; siblings Steven J.
