Obituary
Cyndy Beattie Sellari
November 18, 1951 – February 14, 2026
It is with great sadness and yet profound thankfulness to God that we announce the passing of Cyndra Beattie Sellari (Cyndy), age 74, on February 14, 2026, in Wellington, Florida. Somehow, it seems appropriate that her last day of life was Valentine's Day. Right up to the time she left her earthly life, she seemed at peace and was surrounded by love and family. This was almost six years after her initial cancer diagnosis, which gave Gary and others time to become closer to Cyndy and God. Thank you, God, for that happening and that blessing.
Cyndy was raised in Vandegrift, Pennsylvania. She always felt she had been raised in “a perfect little town”. Cyndy was actively involved in church ministries throughout her life. Some being: Serving as a student, teacher, and leader in a long ongoing Bethel Bible study series. Leading a Braille Bible ministry for years. That ministry manufactured and distributed both domestically and internationally well over 25,000 Braille Bibles to the blind. Serving in the church's Sunday school. Working in the church's thrift shop. Outreach to the homeless. Assisting with and often writing, organizing, and directing church pageants and plays. All of these activities were associated with First Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Cyndy received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. At the time, Seton Hill was a women's college. While attending, she met and later married her husband, Gary. Gary attended a nearby men's “brother” college, Saint Vincent College. Both schools were strongly Catholic-affiliated.
In addition to family tasks, Cyndy taught school, worked in business, was a crossing guard, and was a devoted daughter and caregiver to her parents. She also earned multiple master's level college credits in selected course areas, just so she could become better equipped to help her children meet individual needs that arose.
Cyndy continues to be deeply loved by her husband of 52 years. He knows he will see her again. Cyndy, a strong Christian woman in belief, action, and words, was always an excellent role model in so many ways to her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and friends.
Cyndy and Gary made a great team. They had five wonderful children. Cyndy was always very involved in the raising, education, and activities of all five children and continued much of that pattern with her grandchildren. Cyndy was lovingly referred to as “Sinky” or CeCe” by her grandkids.
Cyndy always enjoyed very strong and healthy relationships with all of her children, their spouses, her grandchildren, her nephew Chris, and all of her husband's extended family. The children: Anthony (SoYoung), Brandt (Carrie), Charlie (Amanda), Dina Richardson (Bryan), and Evan (Brittni). Grandchildren: Kaylee, Bella, Connor, Carter, Jade, Macy, Addie, Kennedy, Weston, and Ellie.
Her husband, Gary, often described Cyndy as being a Proverbs 31 wife. Verses from Proverbs 31. 31:10 She is far more precious than jewels. 31:11 The heart of her husband trusts her, and he will have no lack of gain. 31:28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.
Even though Cyndy was not a hugger, she got hugged a lot by family, friends, and even strangers. She just seemed to attract people. The world is a better place because she touched so many with love, her positive attitude and her thankful and joyful heart.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a 10:00 a.m. starting visitation time, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2740 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida, 33405. A luncheon will be held at 12pm at the church. For those of you unable to attend, you can watch it via livestream here.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Cyndy, please make any donations to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, designation Missionaries, or to Lutheran Braille Workers Inc.
