Craig Walter Hallonquist

Craig Walter Hallonquist, 67, passed away on June 11, 2023 after a long and debilitating illness complicated by a fall. He was born in Good Samaritan Hospital, West Palm Beach, Florida the son of Rutherford (Red)and Cora Hallonquist, both of whom preceded him in death. Craig is survived by his beloved wife, Deneen Ann Hallonquist, loving son, James Craig Hallonquist, sister-in-law, Francine Lillian Ramaglia along with many cousins, friends and respected business associates. Craig graduated from Suncoast High School, attended Florida State University and earned his degree in Architecture from Florida A & M. Craig was passionate about many things, but most especially enjoyed being a licensed Architect with several different well-regarded firms in Palm Beach as well as being an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA)until his retirement in 2017. Craig considered among his greatest accomplishments his commitment to old-school methods and catering to his Palm Beach and Wellington clients. Anyone who ever knew Craig knew that two things rocked his world: music of any kind and cars—any cars, but most of all NASCAR. His gift was his ability to remember the most obscure yet meaningful details from not only music, but all pop culture as well as history. Better yet, he would bring it all to life in entertaining and educational tales for the apple of his eye and most important person in his life, his son James. So much of Craig lives on in James. There will be a funeral mass at St. Rita Roman Catholic Church located at 13645 Paddock Drive, Wellington, FL 33414 at 1pm on July 15, 2023. This will be the only service. In lieu of flowers, mass cards would be appreciated. In addition, donations may also be made to the Visiting Clergy Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach County as their visits gave Craig great joy and peace despite his suffering.
