Cletus Willard Pirtle Sr., 93 of Royal Palm Beach, FL passed away on February 23, 2015. Married over 68 years, he is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Pirtle, his loving daughter and son-in law Doris and John Jelcic., son and daughter-in-law Cletus and Sandra Pirtle. He is survived by four grandchildren and two great granddaughters. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was born in Anna, IL on February 20, 1922, the son of Albert L. and Clora Pirtle. One of 8 children, his mother, a younger brother and sister died from the flu in 1928, leaving his father to raise his family by himself, which he did in Grand Tower, IL. Cletus served in the U.S. Navy during WW II in the Pacific. After his naval service he settled in Baltimore, MD and worked in the shipyard. He was hired by General Motors and worked 33 years on the assembly line until he retired and moved to Royal Palm Beach, FL in 1980. A visitation will be held at Palms West Funeral Home on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a service at 7:30 PM. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles on Friday, February 27th at 10:00 AM with burial to follow.
