Claudine Elizabeth Story passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012. Born August 8, 1939 in Linden, TN, Claudine is survived by her mother, Ouida "Brownie" DePriest of Lake Worth, husband Robert "Buck" Story of Belle Glade, children Michael D. Baker (Ellie) of Lake Worth and Lake City, FL; Cathi S. Davis (Greg) of Charlotte, NC; Bryan Christopher Story of Chipley, FL; grandchildren Jessica R. and Kaycee M. Baker, Tanner B. Story, Dylan G. and Christopher S. Davis; siblings Bobby DePriest of Umatilla, OR, June Rasmussen of Glendale, AZ, and Priscilla Blanchette of Lake Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. Having resided in Belle Glade since 1984, Claudine was an owner/operator of Lake Pharmacy, a long-time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and an active sister in the Laureate Gamma Zeta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Claudine's favorite pastimes included relaxing in Lake Placid, FL, reading mysteries, completing jigsaw puzzles, and enjoying time with her grandchildren. She was an avid collector of miniature lighthouses and churches. One of Claudine's favorite travel experiences was steam-boat river cruises on paddle wheelers, having steamed the entire Mississippi and Columbia Rivers. Claudine was often described as one of the nicest ladies who treated everyone kindly. She came to be a remarkable woman of great faith and will be greatly missed. She will be remembered not as a victim of cancer but as a real blessing to her family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20 from 6 to 8 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 125 E. Canal St. N. / E. Lake Rd., Belle Glade, followed by a funeral service Wednesday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church children's fund or to the charity of your choice.
