Claudette Lovina Forbes-Williams passed away on February 24, 2015 at home in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Claudette was born on December 26, 1955 in Westmoreland, Jamaica. She migrated to South Florida 35 years ago where she forged a life of devoted service to others. She began as a Nursing Aid at Morse Geriatric Center where she worked diligently to pursue her education and earn a Nursing B.A. degree from Palm Beach Community College in 1989. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for many years before earning a M.A. degree from Barry University* in 2006 so she could become a Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her professional career, she was respected as an esteemed colleague amongst health professionals as a Nurse, Nurse Manager, and as a Nurse Practitioner. She treated countless patients with expert knowledge, a tender hand, and a quick wit that healed both body and spirit. Claudette had a passion for serving her community. This translated into years of volunteer service, including service with the Gaskov Clerge Foundation where she traveled annually to provide medical care in Haiti, community service through the Rotary Club of Royal Palm Beach, and participation in marathons which supported multiple Cancer Awareness Organizations. Her creative mind, kind heart, and brilliant smile added sparkle to all she did. From her volunteer work to treating patients to taking walks through the park, Claudette committed herself with enthusiasm to everything she did. Despite her glamorous persona, Claudette enjoyed simple pleasures. She was often found in her garden among her beloved plants. From her stylish gait to her fabulous style, her dynamic personality touched everyone who had contact with her. Her grace and "can-do" attitude was inspiring and motivating to family, friends, and strangers alike. She leaves her children, grandchild, family, and friends with the reminder that all is possible through perseverance. Claudette is survived by her three children, one grandchild, several loving siblings and a family of friends. A memorial gathering will be held at Palms West Funeral Hone on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 6:00 PM with a service beginning at 7:00 PM.
