Claudette Tufau

Claudette Vivy Tufau, a longtime resident of Lake Worth, FL died on Monday the 11th of December after a long illness. Claudette was born on January 24, 1938 in Petionville, Haiti to Hermance Magny Vivy and Francois Brenor Vivy. She attended Le Centre d'Etude Secondaires then École Polytechnique, Université d'État d'Haiti where she was one of two women in her cohort to earn a degree in Civil Engineering. Claudette, "Engineer Vivy" worked at the Alexander Porter firm in Manhattan for four years followed by 25 years of service at the Rockland County Drainage Agency in New City NY; she retired in 2002. Claudette, a devoted Roman Catholic will be reunited in the Kingdom of God with her parents and her siblings Andre, Jacqueline and Tully. Claudette is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Guy Tufau, MD of Lake Worth, FL; her son Guy Tufau Jr. of Harlem, NY; her daughters, Michele Tufau Afriyie of Worcester, MA and Pascale Tufau, MD of Woodstock, Maryland; her sisters Janine Vivy Germain and Marie Therese Vivy Haspil of Petionville, Haiti; her grandchildren Isabelle and Andre Duroseau, Daniel, Jacqueline and Michael Afriyie and Sophia, Stephen and Olivia Tufau and loving extended family and friends who will greatly miss her. She embodied the Proverb 31:10, virtuous woman. Her husband praises her as one who excels them all. Her children, whom she often proclaimed were her crown jewels, call her blessed. Known for her sense of fashion, wisdom, and grace, she thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world with the love of her life and many friends. Services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017: Viewing 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Parkway, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM at St. Therese De Lisieux Catholic Church 11800 Lake Worth Rd, Wellington, FL 33449
