Claire Beirne Haslett

Claire Beirne Haslett, 73, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 in her Wellington home, surrounded by family. She had lost her battle with cancer after a courageous 6 years. Mary Claire Beirne Haslett was born in Kilglass, Co. Roscommon, Ireland. She had attended Holy Faith Convent Boarding School in Ireland before moving to the U.S. at 17 years old. She studied briefly at Villanova University for DuPont. Claire was the Founder of Haifa Marble & Granite in the early 1980's. She was a very successful business woman in the marble and granite industry. She enjoyed traveling the world and had a generous heart. She is survived by her brother, Liam Beirne (Mary) in Loxahatchee, Florida and her sister, Rita McNama (Leo) in Galway, Ireland and Sean Beirne in Dangan, Kilmore, Co. Roscommon, Ireland. Claire is predeceased by her parents (James & Kate Chapman) as well as her brother (Eamon Beirne). She leaves behind 4 nieces and 5 nephews, as well as 5 great nieces and 4 great nephews. The wake/memorial service will be held on Friday, August 5th from 6-8pm at the Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. Her cremains will be brought back to Ireland by her family. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of Palm Beach County.
