Chau Ying Wong died peacefully on November 1, 2015 in West Palm Beach, FL at the age of 72. Chau was born in Pingshan District, Shenzhen, China on July 21, 1943 to Shuen Ching Chu and Tsang Chau. She came to the United States in 1972 and settled in South Florida, where she was focused on helping her young family to thrive in their new community. Chau was a supportive, loving mother to her children, who she shared a close bond with. She opened up Asian food stores and restaurants throughout the area. Chau was an active member of Palm Beach Chinese Christian Chapel throughout her life. Chau loved to nurture the world around her—she had a passion for growing plants, enjoyed cooking for her loved ones, and could be counted on to lend a hand to a friend in need. Her generosity was inspiring to those who knew her well. Chau is survived by her children, Jennie Wong (Bit Lau) of Wellington and Chung Wong (Daisy) of Jupiter; her siblings, Lai Yng Nguyen of Freehold, NJ; Ngan Yng Chu of Queens, NY; and Shuen Chu of Brooklyn, NY; and her grandchildren, Anson Lau, Autumn Wong, and Skye Wong. She was preceded in death by her mother Tsang Chau of Shenzhen, China and her father Shuen Ching Chu. A funeral will be held at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL on Saturday, November 14 at 1:30 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Chau's life. --
