Charles Roger Young passed away quietly on February 2, 2023 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 86 years old and a resident of Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Charlie was born on December 15, 1936 in New Rochelle, New York to Charles Benson Young and Jean Elizabeth Young. He was an only child and grew up in upstate New York, also spending time living on his grandmother's farm in Saugerties, NY while his father was away fighting in WWII. After graduating from New Rochelle High School in 1954 he attended Cortland College, then went on to a 33-year career with Sperry Univac, now Unisys based in Blue Bell, PA. As Executive Vice President of Finance, he spent much of his career living abroad in the Netherlands and England and traveling all over Europe to his subsidiaries. Charlie fathered six children, Bonnie Young, James Young, John Young, Charles Young Jr., Jennifer Young (McDonnell) and Jacqueline Young (Bussing) and had two stepsons, Albert Chioda and Matthew Chioda, all of whom he loved dearly. While time and distance may have separated Charlie from his family, he was always exceedingly proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He adored his loving wife Christine Corwin Young and the life they shared in Palm Beach County since 1992. Charlie was a force of nature, determined to live life his way with class and finesse. He was passionate about reading, classic cars, anything golf, politics, foreign countries, and his world travels. He could often be found sitting on his patio having a cocktail and discussing various topics with anyone who stopped by. Charlie was a man of integrity without being arrogant, opinionated without hostility, and intellectual without being a snob. He was someone that people looked up to and a friend who provided comfort and guidance and always had a great laugh or joke for all who knew him. Charlie's passage from our lives has left a gaping hole in our hearts, but we are at peace knowing he is not suffering.
