Charles Lawton Robbins, Jr. of Lake Worth Florida passed away peacefully on May 5, 2023. Charles was born on August 16, 1937, in Tampa, FL. He spent his childhood living throughout Florida, from Apalachicola to Tampa and Okeechobee before eventually landing in Palm Beach County, where he stayed for the remainder of his life. He attended and played football at the University of Florida, and later served three years in the United States Army, playing football on the 1957 Division Champions Wolfhounds. After his service, he joined the Florida Highway Patrol where he proudly served for thirty years. Charles had a distinguished career earning Palm Beach County's Peace Officer Award in 1971. He had the responsibility of protecting Florida Governors and the privilege of protecting President John F. Kennedy's family during their retreats to Palm Beach. Charles was a quintessential family man. He loved his family and was a great provider to his -wife and family. He enjoyed the Florida Gators, New York Yankees, NASCAR racing and sharing his various tales on the turnpike about encounters with various politicians and celebrities. He was a proud American and taught his family to always lift up others in their time of need and to do so without special cause or attention. He lived his life always remembering the words of Elvis, "Take Care of Business" and his own personal motto "Have a little fun every day." Charles is survived by his wife, Marlene Robbins, his daughters and sons-in-law, Carla Robbins Stralow, Carn Robbins Aldoretta, Neale Stralow, Andrew Aldoretta and his grandchildren, Erika Stralow, Connor Stralow and Vincent Aldoretta. His family will have a private gathering in Lake Worth, Florida.
