Casey Mathiew Soos

January 13, 1990 — November 19, 2013

It is with disbelief and a heavy heart that I finally say - our handsome, charismatic Casey Mathiew has departed our world Tuesday, November 19 in Royal Palm Beach doing something he had dearly loved. His bike was a big part of his life, he yearned for one for years. He is now riding in peaceful paradise, his bright smile shining down on all of us. Casey is survived by his beautiful, loving wife Alexa, parents Terry & Suzanne, two brothers Chris and Curtis, sister in law Elise, grandparents Don and Sharon, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and hundreds of friends. He had a bond with his brothers like no other. Whether they were playing video games together, talking throughout the day or reuniting- it was a good time. The 3 of them fed off each other being not just brothers, but best friends. He graduated from Seminole Ridge High in 2008, as number 19 for the Varsity football team, Homecoming King, and earning a strong reputation for showing anyone how to have a good time. He then joined the US Army as a Petroleum Specialist stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, serving for 4 years excelling at all he did. Some of the men he served with were able to make it today. He was married on May 17, 2010 to Alexa Ondo in a private ceremony shared by just the 2 of them as they wished, sharing 3 and a half wonderful years in marital bliss. After his active duty contract ended, he and his wife moved back to South Florida where he started his college career at Palm Beach State. He was undecided about his major- he just knew he wanted to positively impact the world. Casey thrived at all he attempted, being on the Dean's list his first 2 years of college. Casey had a million different sides to him- and if you were lucky you were granted the opportunity to know one of them. He was artistically, musically, and mentally inclined. He always had something to share, to make you laugh or cause you to think twice whether it be a Youtube video to reference to, a funny event, or just a random thought he had. He didn't want to live a useless, lazy unproductive life. He lived life and he lived it hard- as many should know. Casey had the ability to con anyone into doing just about anything his mind could create. He had the gift of persuasion, as well as sarcasm. Whether you were his partner in crime, the victim, or an onlooker- it is likely you all came out with the same hilarious memory. He was passionate about life, and you could feel his positive vibes instantly. We all knew he would go on to do great things in his life… he had the right mix of hard work, dedication, intelligence, and craziness. Casey dreamt of traveling, changing the world, and testing the limits. He had an open mind and often tried to share his beliefs with others. You could talk to him about anything, he was just that kind of guy. If you were having a bad day, he had some sense for you. If you were having a good day, he was there to share in your joy. He loved being active, doing anything that didn't make him sit inside all day and he tried everything at least once. He took life as it came and never settled. He had a thirst for knowledge about the world around us, space, greater beings, the supernatural. He had strong views, a strong mind, and a strong heart. His family and friends loved him dearly and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of many. He truly was a wonderful human being. I ask for all to outpour their support and love to his wife Alexa, family, and close friends during this difficult time. When thinking of Casey, be sure to take a second to breathe, look up in the sky and appreciate the world surrounding you. We now see first hand that life is too short. Stay positive, and always remember to live life. Casey Mathiew- you may be gone but you're never over. Instead of mourning your death, we will celebrate your life and your spirit will live within us all. Rest easy and ride in paradise sweet angel. You are now completely reckless to carryout all of your wild, spontaneous adventures. Enjoy this last Fried-day on Earth with everyone who's life you have touched.. We'll see you soon.
