Lifelong South Florida resident, Carolyn Hoecherl Reising, passed from this earth on November 27, 2012, at Jackson Memorial Hospital, with her loving family at her side. Carolyn was a third generation Floridian who was born in Miami on November 3, 1942. Her Grandparents, John Raymond and Caroline Fitzpatrick, moved to Miami in 1924. Her parents, Don and Catherine Fitzpatrick Hoecherl, lived in Miami where they raised their three children. Carolyn attended North Miami Senior High, where she graduated in 1960, and subsequently, Jackson School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1963. She practiced as a registered nurse for 40 years. 20 of those years were spent caring for patients at Jackson, North Shore, and Mt. Sinai hospitals. The remainder of her nursing career was spent providing home health care services. Carolyn also served as an Officer in the United States Air Force Reserve from 1965 through 1970. She married her husband of 45 years, Nicholas J. Reising, on May 26, 1967, at St. James Catholic Church in Miami. She had three children, Karen, Nicholas and Matthew, all of whom remain South Florida residents. While raising her children, Carolyn resided in Miami, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, and West Palm Beach. A woman of devout faith, Carolyn was a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles in West Palm Beach. Carolyn was a fun, outgoing, warm, compassionate and caring person who was dearly loved by her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, when she could, visiting friends and family, and doting on her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Nicholas; her three children and their spouses, Karen R. Bottiglieri (husband Christian) of Loxahatchee, Nicholas J. Reising, Jr. (wife Lisa), of Hollywood, and Matthew A. Reising, of West Palm Beach; her mother, Catherine Hoecherl; her younger brothers, Dr. Donald Hoecherl and Dennis Hoecherl; her 4 grandchildren, KayLyn and Christian, Jr., Bottiglieri, and Nicholas, III, and Lauren Reising; and many family members and friends who truly adored her. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Donald A. Hoecherl, a World War II Veteran, who passed in January of this year. Carolyn's life will be celebrated at a mass to be held at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles at 10.00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 located at 100 Crestwood Blvd. S., Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn's family kindly requests that donations be made to Our Lady Queen of the Apostles.
