Caroline Reid

Caroline Reid (Lyn), 91 years old of Royal Palm Beach, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Caroline was born in King Weston, Jamaica on January 5, 1926 and worked at King's House in Kingston, Jamaica. In 1970 she migrated to New York and retired in 1990 after a career as a housekeeper at The Carlyle Hotel. Her faith in God, culinary skills and love of game shows will always be remembered. She is survived by daughter Merleen (Alford) Parsons, daughter-in-law Rose Reid, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grand-children, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Eugene DeSouza (Mercybell Dacres), siblings Olga Cardozo, Ambrose DeSouza and children Winston Reid and Daphne Lynch. The viewing will be held on July 13, 2017 at Palms West Funeral Home from 9am-10am and celebration service at 10:30 am at Our Lady Queen of the Apostles Catholic Church in Royal Palm Beach, FL. An internment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery. Special thanks to Trustbridge Hospice and all those who cared for Caroline in her final years.
