Carol Ann Zomok

December 1, 1942 — February 5, 2024

Carol Ann Zomok, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on February 5, 2024, at the age of 81 in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. Born on December 1, 1942, in Munhall, PA, Carol made a lasting impact on the world during her time here. Carol's life was dedicated to serving others, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Whether it was through her role as a mother, wife, or her work with organizations such as ARC and with the homeless, she touched countless lives with her selflessness and compassion. Carol's presence brought comfort and support to those who couldn't help themselves. Growing up in Munhall, PA, Carol's Pittsburgh roots shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. She embodied strength, care, capability, love, all with a sharp wit. As an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she always cheered on her favorite team. Carol was also the first woman in her family to earn a college degree, a testament to her determination and intelligence. It was at Duquesne University where she met the love of her life, her husband Bob. Carol and her husband were married during her favorite time of the year on the day after Christmas. She supported her husband's military career while simultaneously raising a family. While full of blessings, those early family years would also test her strength with the loss of her Dad, Joseph Miller, and her first (and always successful - take that cancer!) battle with cancer. Love and bravery characterize her. She loved with an unequaled passion. And her bravery in the face of a myriad of surgeries and having to endure pain is worthy of the highest honor for bravery. Despite the challenges, Carol's life was filled with blessings and joy and an enormous amount of love. A love she willingly shared and impacted too many people to recount. She made them and the world a far, far better place. Bob and Carol ultimately settled in Monroeville, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh, to raise their family. The neighborhood they chose, Williamsburg Heights, was a close-knit group of modest homes in a wonderful area with caring neighbors. Extended family, friends from school, and friends in the neighborhood were blended to create a caring and loving atmosphere for our family. Carol's earthly tent finally gave out on February 5, 2024. Her soul has traded that tent in for robes of everlasting love and life and will await all of us in heaven. We love you Carol, aka Mrs., Mom, Grandma, Nina! Carol is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert J. Zomok, daughter Tracey A. Zomok, daughter Susan Z. Alex (Brian), son Robert M. Zomok (Jenna), seven grandchildren, Zachary Zomok (Kendra), Brianna Alex Rayner (Christopher), Kyle Ercol, Andrew Zomok, Bethany Alex, Mara Zomok, Aley Ercol Foster (Ian), and two great grandchildren, Iris and Oliver Zomok. Carol is also survived by her brother, Donald Miller (Linda) and sister-in-law Kathy Haddock, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and dear friends. Friends and family are invited to attend the ceremony to honor Carol's life. The services will be held at Palms West Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. A gathering will take place at 12:30 pm (ET), followed by a chapel service at 1:00 pm (ET). The chapel service will also be streamed online. The link will be posted on the funeral home's website. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Carol's memory to MorseLife Hospice & Palliative Care. Donations can be made online at https://morselifefoundation.org/donate/. Carol Ann Zomok will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and service will continue to inspire and impact lives for generations to come.
