Carol Ann Caristo

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Caristo born in Brooklyn, NY on April 6, 1944 and passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. Carol was the beloved daughter of the predeceased Alfred and Susan Fronduto and the youngest of nine siblings. Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, family member, and friend whose kindness, strength, and love touched all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her loving children Deborah Cretella (deceased Louis), Nicholas Caristo (Lori), Diane Leyson and Patrick Caristo (Sabrina). Carol was also a cherished grandmother (Nanny) to nine grandchildren: Nicole Preston, Frank Cretella, Frank Caristo, Candace Cretella, Jacqueline Cretella, Nicholas Leyson, Christina Caristo, Faith Leyson, Michael Caristo, Mia Caristo, and Sarah Caristo, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Throughout her life, Carol dedicated herself to caring for others. Whether raising her four children or serving as a caregiver in her later years, she gave generously of herself with unwavering love and devotion. She found joy in cooking, cleaning, shopping and, above all, caring for animals. Carol devoted much of her time to ensuring that pets and stray animals alike were fed, protected, and loved.

She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, spirited personality, and the unique way she shared her thoughts and wisdom. Carol found her greatest happiness in spending time with family and celebrating life’s special moments with those she loved most. Carol’s humorous stories may have come to an end, but the memories she created will continue to bring smiles to those who knew and loved her.

Carol will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of her family and friends always.
