Carmeita Gooden was born to Ezekiel and Josephine Miller on April 8, 1938, in Berkshire, Westmoreland Jamaica, W.I. She was proceeded in death by her parents three brothers and four sisters, Eutan, Vannie, Sygre, Mavis Sylvia, Ethline and Merris, respectively. She is survived by her husband of 48 years Samuel E. Gooden, children Karen, Michael and Leonard, Grandchildren; Sydni, Kayla, Albany, Zeek and Joshua and great grandchild Landen, Siblings; Lurline, Vie, Veda, and Daughter in law Karen, and a host of nieces and nephews in Jamaica, United States, and England. Carmeita attended Pisgah School in Pisgah St. Elizabeth. After school, she worked in the retailing industry, as a linen store shop keeper in Montego Bay, St. James, Jamaica. She then matriculated to the U.S. in Detroit Michigan where she took up work as a Governess in Southfield Michigan. She continued to thrive and raise a beautiful loving family. She went into the nursing field when she worked as Sinai Hospital for over 20 years where she provided nurturing care for all her patients as if they were family. She later retired to South Florida where she and her husband became very involved in the United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches where she was an active member of the United Methodist Women's Group. A viewing will be held at The United Methodist Church of the Palm Beaches on Friday, September 23rd, 2022 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with burial to take place immediately following the service at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
