Carl F. Albanese

July 6, 1931 — April 19, 2021

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Carl F. Albanese. He was 89 years old and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 19, 2021. Born on July 6, 1931 at Gloversville's Nathan Littauer Hospital, Carl was the thirteenth of fifteen children born to Pasquale and Giovanna (Doganieri) Albanese, who predecease him. He is also predeceased by his brothers, Anthony Albanese, Joseph Albanese, William Albanese, Virgil Albanese, William Albanese, Rudolph Albanese, James Albanese, Attilio "Till" Albanese, Hon. Mario M. Albanese, and Louis "Toddy" Albanese; and sisters, Olga Albanese, Lillian (Albanese) Doremus and Inez (Albanese) Rooney. Carl was a graduate of Gloversville High School and a decorated Korean War veteran. He proudly served his country in the Army where he earned two bronze star medals in recognition of his heroic acts of valor. After serving in Korea, Carl returned to his hometown of Gloversville, NY and began his many years of work in the leather industry. He married his wife of 56 years, formerly Mary Mouyios, in 1964, and in 1966, their first and only child, Maria A. Albanese was born. Carl and family continued living in Gloversville for many years before eventually relocating to South Florida in 1986 to be closer to his beloved brother, the late Louis "Toddy" Albanese. Carl was a true family man. Family was everything. He was so proud of his family and his heritage. He loved to be immersed in the Italian culture, and was so proud to be the son of Italian immigrants. He was proud of every family member's accomplishments, and thought his brothers and sisters were the greatest. But without question, his proudest moment was watching his daughter graduate from law school with honors and take the coveted oath of office as Assistant State Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit, in and for Palm Beach County, Fl in September 2012. This was a dream come true for Carl. Carl is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary (Mouyios) Albanese, his daughter Maria A. Albanese, Esq. (Mary R. Fitzgerald), and his sister Norma (Albanese) Burrell, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. A private memorial service in his honor will be held at Palms West Funeral Home, and will include a decorated military service tribute.
