Caridad Fernandez

Caridad Fernandez, 78, went to be with the Lord on March 19, 2009. Born in Havana, Cuba, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1955, lived many years in Tennessee and then Florida. A devoted mother, grandmother, and wife, Caridad is survived by her husband, Alberto Fernandez; children Isis ?Nicki? (Omar) Viale, Alberto ?Tico? (Maritza) Fernandez; step-son Alex Fernandez; grandchildren Virgilia and Thomas Viale, Kristen Fernandez and chosen grandchild Steven Hansen; twin sister Josefina Gamoneda, and many other dear family and friends. Caridad retired from the Palm Beach County School district, baking bread for the students of Forest Hill High School. She will always be remembered for her sweet spirit, gentle caring, and unconditional love. A visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 6PM-8PM at Palms West Funeral Home. A memorial service is scheduled on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 1PM at Florida Gardens Baptist Church on Lake Worth Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Florida Gardens Baptist or Hospice of PBC.
