Our dear father, born April 5, 1925 in Havana, Cuba, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 54 years, Lucia Garcia-Iñiguez and survived by his daughters, Lucy (Monte) Marshall of St. Louis, Missouri, Rose (Rodi) Bowen of Tampa, Florida and Mercedes (Mark) Motzer of Tampa, Florida. He leaves behind six grandchildren: Heather (Dave) Andrews, Christine (Andy) Steiner, Cindy Marshall, Kyle Marshall, Blake Motzer, and Andrew Motzer and one great-grandchild Conrad Steiner. He is also survived by his three beloved brothers: Carlos Garcia-Iñiguez of Miami, Florida and Justo Garcia-Iñiguez of Pembroke Pines, Florida, and Rafael Garcia-Iñiguez of Houston, Texas. He was an agronomist who contributed greatly to the Glades sugarcane community and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Our father also leaves many friends and co-workers from the Belle Glade & West Palm Beach area – too many to mention but very dear to us. He will be greatly missed by all. He was an inspiration to all who met him and because of him, the world is a better place. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 21st from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Palms West Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church in Wellington, Florida. The committal service at Our Lady Queen of Peace cemetery will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions can either be made to the LifePath Hospice or Alzheimers Association.
