Husband, father and best friend to many, Bruce Edward Bryda (also referred to as "Superman") died peacefully at the age of 78 on the evening of October 29, 2019 in Greenacres, Florida. Bruce is lovingly remembered by his amazing wife, Diane; daughters Karen and Lorraine; son-in-law, Christopher; and his grandchildren, Marlo and Bruce. Bruce will also be forever remembered by his numerous extended family and dear friends. A New Jersey native, Bruce was born April 30, 1941 to Nelle and Edward Bryda in Newark NJ, raised in Cedar Grove, NJ. He met his future wife, Diane, in 1956 and they were married in 1965. They recently celebrated 54 years of marriage. He Served in the U.S. Army Security Agency for 3 years where he met many lifelong friends, stationed for 18 months of that time at Kagnew Station in Asmara, Eritrea on the Horn of Africa. Bruce graduated from Rider College in Trenton and worked as controller at American National Can for many years. He loved golf, traveling with his wife and children, fishing, gardening, chocolate, listening to Jimmy Buffet and Bruce Springsteen, and just generally enjoying all that life had to offer. If you were lucky enough to catch him smile, it was a special moment, as were most moments with him.
