Bonnie Lynne Barbanel Gordon, 49, of Royal Palm Beach Florida, passed away suddenly on August 27, 2012, as a result of a massive brain aneurysm. She was the beloved daughter of Anne Matthias Barbanel, Amelia Island, FL and Sidney Manuel Barbanel, deceased, the loving mother of the Logan Alexander Gordon of Royal Palm Beach, FL and Hailey Sage Gordon of Royal Palm Beach, FL, sister of Amy Laura Barbanel of Charleston, SC, niece of Ginny Montgomery, Gary Barbanel, Linda Weiss, Diane Vickers (Stan); Aunt of Alexander Kuffel Barbanel, cousin to Glenn Montgomery, Tommy Montgomery (Lauren), Leigh Smith Schlinkert (Scott), Adam Vickers (Jody), Michael Vickers (Loretta), Rachel Wein (David) and many friends. She had recently become engaged to Geoff Samels who made her very happy. She loved her dogs Chico and Duke tremendously. Bonnie was born on July 2, 1963 in Chattanooga, TN. She graduated West Columbia High School in 1981, and graduated from the University of Texas in 1985 with a B.S. in Education and Business. Soon after graduation, she moved to West Palm Beach, where she met and wed Sean Gordon. She was a dedicated and inspirational teacher with the School District of Palm Beach County for over 25 years. She was currently employed with Palm Beach Public Elementary, which was her home away from home. Through the years she was awarded many honors and enlightened the minds of hundreds of children. Bonnie loved her children, family, friends, and animals. Bonnie "BonBon" was one-of-a-kind and cherished by many. Bonnie liked to say "To know me is to love me," and she was so right. She is a light that shines brightly for all who know her. Services will be held at Palms West Funeral Home on Friday, August 31 at 3:30 PM for a celebration of her life. Donations can be made in her memory to the charity of your choice. A college trust fund will be set up for Logan and Hailey shortly.
