Billy Howard Patton, 75, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away on July 26, 2013 at Hospice House in Ft. Pierce, Fla. at 1:27AM. He was born on December 2, 1937 to Willie and Annie Lorine Caton Patton. Billy grew up in Hilltop, Alabama. He acquired his GED while serving in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. Billy then enlisted in the US Navy where he served from 1956 to 1960. He then served in the US Coast Guard from 1962 to 1966. After serving his country honorably, he was a private boat captain. He then became a Master Carpenter which was his profession until retiring in 2007. Billy married Elizabeth Ach on March 21, 1968 and they were happily married until his passing. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Willie Samuel, Charles Floyd, Carl Edwin, Herbert Karl, Fred Martin, sister Glenda Patton Shirley, and daughter Sheila Patton Resesndiz. Billy is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Port St. Lucie, Fla, his children Lynn (Harry) Dismukes of Prattville, Alabama, Greg (Kathy) Patton of Billingsley, Alabama, Christopher Patton of Charlotte, NC, sister Charlotte Patton Stephens of McCalla, Alabama, grandchildren April Dismukes(John) Damoth , Alexander Resendiz, Nikki Patton, Rhiannon Patton, Christopher Patton, Jr, great-grandchildren John Carter Damoth, Ella Damoth, Bo Damoth, nieces/nephews Charles Patton Jr, Wilma Lee Patton Wiebe, Terry Stephens, Darin Stephens, Shane Stephens, John Shirley, Richard Shirley and Regina Shirley Summerlin. Billy also has three step children, fourteen step grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Fla. On Tuesday, July 30 at 2:15. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Elizabeth Patton.
