Beverley, otherwise called Miss Bev, Auntie Bey, was the most wonderful person I have ever known. It is an honor to stand before you today to celebrate her life's legacy. Beverley was born on March 4th, 1944, but was taken away from us too soon on November 20th, 2025. Beverley worked at Ethan Mills Garment Industry as a Supervisor for many years, where she directed and delegated tasks efficiently, ensuring work was completed. She met the love of her life, Leonard Joseph Walters, and they both became united in Marriage. After that, she migrated to the United States of America to fulfill her dreams. During that beautiful union, they produced their only son, Junior J Walters. During her continued years in America, she also worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital as a dietitian, where she retired after thirty-six years, having made a vast number of beloved friends along the way. Beverley then decided that, after her retirement, she wanted to relocate to a peaceful lifestyle, which she chose in Florida until the time of her passing, leaving her only son, Junior, as she called him "JR.", sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. There has been so much that happened between those dates, and there is simply no way we could reiterate the life of Beverley led in a simple speech, but I'm going to do my best. Beverley was born to lvy Manelva Smith and Ezra Bolton Smith, and she grew up in Jamaica. She attended Russo Primary School for a short time, then moved to MarVerley Primary School. She was the second child of nine surviving siblings, namely, Neville (deceased), within the same month of her death, Edward, Catherine, Earle, Leonie, Jacqueline, Marlene, and Silbert. My Sister Beverley touched everyone with her kindness. She loved to entertain, especially at Christmas time, as she enjoyed cooking and eating, and everyone enjoyed the delicious dishes. She was a great cook. She loves watching her favorite television shows like The New York Yankees baseball and The Nicks; she would not miss them for anything. She was the "Matriarch" for the family, stern, respected, and held the family together as she anchored her love for her family; this was who she was!! After all that was said about Beverley, it was obvious who the apple of her eyes was, her son, "JR". There are so many wonderful memories; we are forever grateful for your boundless love and laughter, and these we will hold in our hearts and cherish forever. You will be deeply missed by family and friends.
