Betty passed away on August 11, 2012 after a brief illness and reunited with her husband Ray. Betty was born March 11, 1931 in Woodruff, Wisconsin where she was 1of 9 children. The Brill family later moved to Trenary, Michigan located in the Upper Peninsula. Betty moved to Fayetteville, N.C. (Ft. Bragg) where she met and married Raymond F. Russell Sr. (retired U. S. Army), deceased, March 12, 1981. Together they had three children, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Betty is survived by her children, son Ray (Sherry) Russell Jr. of Maumee, OH., daughters Barbara Russell of Wellington, FL. and Connie ( Dwight) Saxon of Wellington, FL. Four grandchildren Tara (Chris) Zimmerman and Josh Saxon of Wellington, FL., Amy Russell and Adam Russell of Maumee, OH. Two great-grandchildren Madison and Kendal Zimmerman. Sisters, Kate (Norbert) Weber of Gladstone, MI., Vangie (Bob) Demeuse, Gladstone, MI. and Harriet Hill, of Chatham, MI. and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was proceeded in death by her husband Ray Sr., parents Kenneth and Anna (Albrecht) Brill, brother Richard Brill, sisters Viola Green, Shirley Jussila, Sofie Kallio, and Esther Johnson Betty worked as an LPN at various doctor's office's and St. Mary's Hospital before retiring and working at Hospice of Palm Beach County until she retired a second time. Betty also volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital until 3 years ago as well as the Palm Beach County FOOLS and Palm Beach County Fire Fighters charity events for the past 30 years and the Marathon of the Palm Beaches for the past 6 years. Betty dedicated her life to the health care field and was a tireless professional, always placing the needs of her patients before hers even if it meant she would get home later than expected. Betty had the unique ability to connect with individuals in a way that touched them deeply. She would drop anything at a moments notice to return to the U. P. of Michigan or north Florida to visit an ill relative to provide comfort and support. Betty will be missed by her family, friends, co-workers and all the people she touched during her working career and her life. Mom will finally be united with dad and other family and friends who preceded her on this final journey. Go in peace, we will be fine!
