Bernard J. Quirk of Bristol, CT and West Palm Beach, FL passed on October 29, 2011. He was the son of James and Kathryn (MacFarlane) and the loving husband of Jennie (Raucci) Quirk for 52 years. He was born in New Britain, CT on August 16, 1937 and graduated from New Britain High School and College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA. He earned his master's degree from Central Connecticut State University and his sixth year certificate fm Western Connecticut State University. Bernie taught Social Studies in the Plymouth School System for thirty-five years, retiring in 1995 as Chairman of the Terryville High School History Department. He was a member of St Matthews Catholic Church and the Golden Lakes Italian-American Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Thomas and his wife Theresa Quirk from Dallas, Texas and their two daughters, Nina and Jamie. He also leaves a daughter Patricia (Quirk) Aubin and her husband Kenneth and their son Bradley from Glastonbury, CT. He was pre deceased by a brother James Quirk. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday November 7th at 10:00 am directly at St. Matthew's Church, 120 Church Ave., Forestville, CT. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery in New Britain at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St Matthew's School Development Fund, Welch Drive, Forestville, CT 06010.
