Bassie, was born September 2, 1944, in Monte Rose Christ Church, Barbados, to the parents of the late Paul Ifill (father) and Ina Jones-Rice (mother), husband: to (deceased) Maggie Hodges-Jones; ex-husband: to (deceased) Merlene Holder-Jones; father of Bertram Holder, Carlyle Holder, Christopher Holder, Annette Holder, Anthony Holder, Sheldon Straughn, Karen Blenman, Stacia Wilkinson, Michael Jones, Mary Roslyn Chase. Athelston-Jones; grandfather of Benjamin Holder, Safiya Holder, Caleb Holder, Eric Holder Shea Johnson, Shontelle Cheeseman, Leon Holder, Keon Jessamy, Nico Hunte, Thea Hunte, Rhea Hunte-Straughn and Kemshon Wilkinson. Athelston Jones-aka. Bassie, was the oldest of five children. Brother to Steven Jones, Barney Jones, Chesterfield Jones, Lionel Jones and Heather Rice-Belgrave. Athelston went to school at Water Street Boy's School the Parish of Christ Church in Barbados. Athelston put friends and family above everything. Athelston passed away at Palm Beach Lakes ospital on May 12, 2010. Athelston you will forever be in our hearts, may your soul rest in peace.
