Dr. Arthur Joel Gottesman left us on November 9, 2023 at the age of 90 in Wellington, FL, surrounded by his loving family. His passing is intensely felt by all who knew him and he is deeply mourned by his family and friends. Arthur was born on October 17, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to Dr. Meyer and Sadye Gottesman. After graduating high school at age 16, Arthur went on to Hobart College for his undergraduate degree and then to the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. Arthur followed in his father's footsteps and became a dedicated and highly respected periodontist for 37 years. He married Judith Rachel Spiegel on April 8, 1962 and, in that same year, the newlyweds moved to Fort Sill, OK, where Arthur served in the Army as a dentist. In 1964, they moved to Huntington, NY, where Arthur established a thriving dental practice. Eventually, Judy and Arthur settled in Lloyd Harbor, NY, where they raised their three children (Seth, Scott, Sara). Arthur was a gem of a person. His warmth and kindness knew no bounds. He loved well and he cared for all the people in his life wholeheartedly, expecting nothing in return. Arthur's patients agreed that he was a talented and thoughtful doctor who prided himself on knowing his patients on a personal level in order to offer them compassion and comfort. When talking with Arthur, everyone knew they had all of his attention and care. Arthur was a ferocious reader and learner, a lover of golf and tennis, and a loyal friend. But, most importantly, he loved his family. Arthur was predeceased by his parents, Meyer and Sadye (Jagoda) Gottesman and by his beloved wife, Judith (Spiegel) Gottesman, who died almost one year to the day of Arthur's passing. He leaves behind his adored children, Seth, Scott (Shari), Sara De Fazio (Salvatore), and his grandchildren, Carley, Colton, Danica, Noah and Shayna. No visitation will be held at this time as the family requests privacy to grieve. Memorial gifts may be sent to Peggy Adams Rescue League, West
