Anthony "Tony" Thomas Sr., 67 of Wellington, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2013 after an extended illness. Tony was born September 24, 1945 in Warren, Ohio to Shakrey and Josephine. Tony lived in Youngstown, Ohio until he moved to Florida in 1983. He was employed in the office supply industry for 35 years. Tony was devoted to his family and church. As parish council president he was instrumental in helping to raise the funds to build a church and hall. He was awarded the Massabki Medal, considered the highest honor in the Maronite Catholic Church. Since moving to Florida, he was a member of Mary Mother of Light Church in Lake Worth Florida. Tony leaves to cherish his memory Donna (wife of 47 years) his daughter, Michele (Jim) Burka and son,Charles (Jennifer) Thomas, daughter-in- law Maria and seven grandchildren Justine, Colin, Michael, Joseph, Matthew, Olivia and Emily Rose. His son Anthony preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Rose Marie Davitt, Mabel Peters and Patricia Probst and bother Joseph Thomas. He has one surviving sister Sophia Lemonis (Leo) in Delray Beach, Florida. Tony also left behind his father and mother- in- law Frank and Donna Gentile and many nieces and nephews who he cherished like his own children.
